Purpose:

To foster camaraderie among the AGCA executive team.
To meet with the Ghana High Commissioner and the Mission staff.
To receive training on Not for Profit governance and TEAMS usage.
To attend Ottawa GhanaFest.

Meeting Overview
On Sunday, July 14th, 2024, the AGCA executive team gathered in Ottawa for a momentous occasion. This meeting marked a significant step in our association’s journey as it allowed us to achieve multiple important objectives.

  1. Building Camaraderie
    The in-person meeting was a fantastic opportunity for our executive team to strengthen our bonds. The face-to-face interactions fostered a spirit of unity and collaboration that is essential for our collective success. We had a wonderful time together and enjoyed each other’s company immensely.
  2. Dialogue with the Ghana High Commissioner and Mission Staff
    Our engagement with the Ghana High Commissioner and the Mission staff was productive and insightful. The discussions focused on issues pertinent to our community, and we received positive feedback on making these dialogues a regular occurrence. This ongoing collaboration is expected to yield significant benefits for our community.
  3. Training on Not for Profit Governance and TEAMS Usage
    We participated in a comprehensive training session covering Not for Profit governance and the effective use of TEAMS. This training equipped us with the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance our organizational operations and communication.
  4. Attendance at Ottawa GhanaFest
    Ottawa GhanaFest was a vibrant and enriching experience. Our dynamic President, Mr. Robert Bismark Otoo, hosted us graciously, ensuring we felt at home. His hospitality and dedication were deeply appreciated, making the festival an enjoyable highlight of our visit.

In conclusion, the AGCA executive team’s meeting in Ottawa was a resounding success. We achieved all our goals, built stronger relationships, engaged in meaningful dialogues, enhanced our governance skills, and celebrated our culture at GhanaFest. This historic day has set a positive tone for our future endeavors, and we look forward to continuing this momentum.
